ARTISTIC SERVICES
While Bill no longer does demonstrations or workshops, he is available for the following services for artists and art groups:
Judging
Most recently Bill judged the 2017 Best of the Chesapeake annual show at the McBride Gallery in Annapolis. Over the years he has also judged shows for the Rockville Art League, Chevy Chase Women's Club, Art League of Northern Virginia, Springfield Art Guild, and the Vienna Art Guild. The cost is based on the size of the show, number of separate categories to be judged, and number of awards.
Group Critiques
Conducted at a location selected by the art group. The session will consist of Bill's critiquing members' paintings on the basic elements of design, drawing, values, and colors and the key elements each artist should address to improve the painting. Limited to six or seven participants, each bringing three paintings to be critiqued. Cost is $75 per hour with a two-hour minimum.
Individual Assistance
Conducted in his studio by appointment. The individual may bring completed paintings for critique, an incomplete painting for coaching on how to progress, or a blank canvas to start a new painting. During the session, he'll address specific problems the artist brings up as well as others that may arise. Cost is $50 per hour with a two-hour minimum.
